Biofeedback may help reduce headache pain by up to 60 percent, says John Arena, PhD, a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia. The therapy involves being hooked up to sensors that provide real-time readings of body processes, like blood pressure and muscle tension, and learning how to affect them with stress-relieving techniques.

New Chemo Drug May Benefit Some Breast Cancer Patients

WEDNESDAY, March 2 (HealthDay News) — The new chemotherapy drug eribulin extends the lives of metastatic breast cancer patients who have received extensive treatment, according to a new study.

The researchers found that among patients whose cancer had spread, those who took the drug lived a median of 2.5 months longer than those who received a physician-chosen treatment — 13.1 months versus 10.6 months.

Chemo May Raise Risk of Falls in Breast Cancer Survivors

Researchers looked at 59 postmenopausal breast cancer survivors, and found that 58 percent of them had experienced a fall in the year before the start of the study and 47 percent had a fall during the six-month study period.
